Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: You must request the Driving Safety Course by the response date printed on the front of your citation — if you miss it, you lose the DSC option. Once a trial date is set, the DSC and deferral options are no longer available.
  • The Municipal Court operates from the Court Clerk's window at Terrell Police Headquarters, 1100 N State Highway 34 — not the old 201 E Nash St City Hall address still listed in some third-party directories.
  • Standard fines can be paid online (6.5% card service fee) or at a payment kiosk in the City Hall lobby, but DSC and Deferred Disposition fees cannot be paid through the online service.
  • Once a trial date is set, the Driving Safety Course and Deferred Disposition options are no longer available.
  • Court participates in the TxDMV Scofflaw Program — failure to appear or pay can block vehicle registration renewal.
  • Presiding judge: Hon. Mike Smith. Court fax: (972) 563-3051.
