How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request Form (Defendant's Plea Request for a Driving Safety Course)
- •DSC completion certificate from a TDLR-approved provider
- •Proof of insurance at time of offense (if required by court)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Copy of Texas driving record (Type 3A — obtain from TxDPS)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must submit DSC request within 20 days of the citation date (per court's stated appearance deadline); request must be made before or by the appearance date on the ticket
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval (standard Texas practice; confirm with court).
