DSC Court Fees
⚠ $144 due to the Court within 30 days of the request. Money order or cashier's check only — no personal checks accepted.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Driver's License (or Military ID with valid out-of-state license)
- •Current liability insurance listing applicant as a driver
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •After court approval: certificate of course completion
- •After court approval: certified copy of driving record
- •After court approval: notarized affidavit
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be postmarked or submitted online by the appearance date on the citation; requests after that date are not eligible.
- •Completion window: Submit all required documents within 90 days of the request after the judge approves; $144 fee due within 30 days of the request..
- •Eligibility: must be at least 17, hold valid TX DL/Military ID, have current insurance, no CDL (current or at time of offense), and not have taken a driving course in the last 12 months.
- •Not eligible if charged with speeding 25+ mph over the limit, 14+ mph over in a school zone, or any construction/work zone offense with workers present.
- •Pay-by-ticket online portal exists for fines: grandviewtx.municipalonlinepayments.com.
- •If no instructions received within 14 days of an approved request, contact the court.
