DSC Court Fees
This court does not publish its DSC fee schedule online. Call (409) 960-5748 to confirm the exact amount before submitting payment.
Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Notarized DSC Affidavit (for mail requests)
- •Photocopy of valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Current proof of liability insurance / insurance card
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Payment: court costs + $10 administrative fee
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •After deferral: TEA-approved driving safety course completion certificate
- •After deferral: certified copy of driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made on or before the appearance date listed on the citation (mail requests must be postmarked no later than that date).
- •Completion window: Case deferred 90 days; course completion certificate and certified DPS driving record must be presented to the court by the end of the 90 days..
- •CDL holders are not eligible; only one violation can be dismissed.
- •Under age 17 must appear in open court with a parent or guardian to make the request.
- •Not eligible if took a driving safety/motorcycle course for a traffic offense within the last 12 months, or currently taking a course for another violation.
- •Ineligible offenses: failure to give information at accident scene; leaving scene of accident; passing a school bus; serious traffic violation (CMV operators); construction/maintenance work zone with workers present; speeding 25 mph or more over the limit; speeding 95 mph or more.
