How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request form
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of current vehicle liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC completion certificate (uniform certificate of completion)
- •Certified copy of your driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Enter a plea of guilty or no contest and request DSC on or before the appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days from enrollment to submit the DSC completion certificate and certified DPS driving record to the court..
- •Eligibility: citation must be a 'rules of the road' violation; must hold a valid Texas Class C driver's license; must have current insurance; no CDL; no DSC dismissal used in the prior 12 months.
- •Drivers 17 and younger may use DSC for most any Transportation Code violation.
- •A separate Deferred Disposition option exists; defensive driving may be required as part of deferred disposition for drivers 25 and younger.
- •Always include the citation number on all correspondence with the court.
