How to Request DSC Approval

In-personSubmit the Driving Safety Request form and required documents at the Municipal Court, 105 W. Main St., Quinlan, TX 75474. Call (903) 356-3306 to confirm whether mail/email is accepted.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Completed Driving Safety Request form
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Proof of financial responsibility (auto insurance)
  • Upon completion: DSC course completion certificate

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Upon completion: certified Texas DPS driving record (Type 3A)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: On or before the answer (appearance) date listed on the citation.
  • Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete the course and submit the certificate and Type 3A driving record..
  • Defendant must plead guilty or nolo contendere; prosecution is postponed 90 days while the course is completed.
  • Eligibility: must not have taken a driving safety course within the prior 12 months, not be currently enrolled in another DSC, and not hold a CDL.
  • Ineligible offenses: speeding 25+ over, construction/maintenance zone violations, passing a school bus, accident-related offenses, and fleeing/eluding police.
  • Court fines (not the DSC request) can be paid online at fastgovpay.com/quinlan. Mailing: PO Box 2740, Quinlan, TX 75474.
Court HoursMonday–Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; closed Friday. Court is held the third Monday of each month at 9 a.m.
