How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed 'Request for Driver's Safety Course' form (available on court website)
- •Completed 'Affidavit for Driver's Safety Course' form (available on court website)
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Driver's Safety Course completion certificate (Type 3A TDLR-approved course, submitted within completion window)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your court appearance date; wait at least 48 hours after receiving citation before contacting the court
- •Completion window: 90 days (Texas standard; confirm with court).
- •No personal checks accepted — cash, cashier's check, money order, credit card, or online payment only.
- •If you miss your court date, a courtesy notice is sent within 14 days; failure to respond results in a 30% collection fee and an additional Failure to Appear charge.
- •Court meets only once per month (1st Thursday at 4:30 PM) — plan DSC requests well before your appearance date.
