Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Notice/request to take the driving safety course (on or before your appearance date)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a TEA/TDLR-approved driving safety course (submitted after completion)
- •Certified copy of your driving record (Type 3A) — confirm with clerk
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: You must provide the court with notice of your request to take the course on or before your appearance date. You lose the right to take the course if notice is not provided by then.

- •Court convenes only on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month; plan deadlines accordingly.
