DSC Court Fees
⚠ $144.00 includes $134.00 court costs + $10.00 administrative fee, due in full at time of request. Payable by money order or cashier's check made payable to the City of Itasca, or by debit/credit card. Personal checks and cash are NOT accepted.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Copy of current liability insurance card
- •Signed plea of No Contest (Nolo Contendere) or Guilty / completed driving safety request form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Signed 'court copy' certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved Driving Safety Course (court name on certificate must match)
- •Certified copy (Form 3A) of your driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made on or before the appearance date noted on your citation. Late or incomplete requests will be rejected. Do NOT take the course until your request is accepted by the Court.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date the Court accepts your request to complete the TDLR-approved course and submit both the signed court-copy certificate and the certified (Form 3A) driving record..
- •Eligibility: you must not be currently taking or have completed a driving safety course within the 12 months prior to your current citation.
- •A certified Form 3A driving record from Texas DPS is required IN ADDITION to the course certificate.
- •Failure to complete requirements within 90 days results in a Show Cause hearing; failure to appear leads to a failure-to-appear charge, added fees, a conviction, and a hold on driver's license renewal.
- •Juveniles may be eligible for a Driving Safety Course or may request community service in lieu.
