DSC Court Fees
⚠ Administrative fee is $144 for a standard offense and $169 for a school zone offense, plus applicable state court costs. The court notes all costs and fees are subject to change without notice.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Guilty or no contest plea entry
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of financial responsibility (auto insurance listing you as a driver)
- •Payment of state court costs and the administrative fee
- •Course completion certificate (returned after the course)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of your Texas DPS driving record (returned after the course)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request on or before the appear-by date on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course and obtain a certified DPS driving record; both documents must be returned to the court on or before the 90th day..
- •Drivers under 25 are required to take a driving safety course as a condition of deferred disposition.
- •Ineligible for DSC if: 25+ mph over; offense in a construction zone with workers present; unlawfully passing a school bus; leaving the scene of an accident; held a CDL at the time of the offense; or completed a DSC within the preceding 12 months.
- •The govrec.com online portal is for paying tickets; DSC requests use the separate fillout.com request form.
