How to Request DSC Approval

In-personRequest must be made in person or in writing within 10 days of citation issuance. Court accepts Cash, Money Order, Cashier's Check, or Credit/Debit Card (no personal or business checks).

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Within 10 days of the date the citation was issued; request must be made in person or in writing
  • Completion window: 90 days from court approval to complete the driver safety course.
  • DSC is not available for: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, CDL holders, citations involving an accident, school zone offenses, construction zone offenses with workers present, or if court permission was not obtained.
  • Individuals must not have taken a DSC within the prior 12 months.
  • No copy of driving record required.
  • Course may be taken in person or online (TDLR-approved).
