How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •Copy of proof of liability insurance
- •Signed Request Form (notarized if applying by mail)
- •Personal check or money order for the DSC fee
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record from Texas DPS (Type 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Election for DSC must be made in writing, with a plea entered, on or before the answer date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete the course and submit the original signed Certificate of Completion (mailed certificates must be postmarked within the 90 days)..
- •Failure to turn in the certificate on time results in a conviction plus additional fines and fees.
- •Original signed 'court copy' of the Certificate of Completion is required.
