DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court cost is $144.00 for a standard moving violation, or $169.00 if the offense occurred in a school crossing zone. Costs must be paid at the clerk's window when you request the course. Credit card payments incur a 4% service fee.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of financial responsibility (automobile liability insurance) in your name
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified Type 3A DPS driving record (request #3A via texas.gov)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your court (appearance) date.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date you come in to request the Driving Safety Course..
- •Offense must be a moving violation.
- •Ineligible if: held a CDL at time of offense; non-Texas license; 25+ mph over; construction zone with workers present; passing a stopped school bus; or took/are taking a DSC for another dismissal within the prior 12 months.
