DSC Court Fees
⚠ No personal checks accepted; payment must be included with returned signed court documentation. School zone offenses are $169.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Driver's Safety Course Request Form
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Scan of valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance) listing your name
- •Original signed course completion certificate (due by the 90th day)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record (Type 3A) from Texas DPS (due by the 90th day)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the initial appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days from when the court receives the request to complete the course and submit all paperwork. Failure results in a $200 fine or a show cause hearing..
- •Eligibility: only one moving violation, no DSC taken within the 12 months before the offense, and a valid Texas license or permit.
- •Drivers under 17 must appear in open court with a parent or legal guardian.
- •Ineligible offenses: speeding 25+ over (or 95+ mph), passing a stopped school bus, leaving the scene, work-zone speeding with workers present, and CDL violations.
- •Certified driving record must be Type 3A from Texas DPS.
