DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee covers DSC or Motorcycle Operator Training Course. $144 for moving violations; $159 for school zone speeding.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Photocopy of current vehicle liability insurance
- •Photocopy of valid Texas driver's license
- •DSC fee payment
- •Completed, signed, and notarized affidavit
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your scheduled court/appearance date — in court, by mail (postmarked by the court date), or in person at the court office.
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete a Texas-approved DSC, obtain a certified DPS driving record (Type 3A), and submit the notarized affidavit..
- •Ineligible offenses: speeding 25+ mph over the limit; passing a school bus; failing to give notice/render aid after a crash; construction zone with workers present; CDL holders.
- •Failure to comply by the 90th day results in a conviction plus a $200 fine.

- •Courtroom attire required for in-person visits (no t-shirts or tank tops).
