How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Driver's License
- •Insurance card showing the defendant's name as a covered driver
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Original certificate of completion from the driving safety course
- •Original certified driving record (Type 3A), orderable at dps.texas.gov

- •Eligibility: no DSC within 12 months of the citation; plea of no contest or guilty. Ineligible if violation was in a construction zone with workers present, 25+ mph over, passing a school bus, or the driver holds a CDL.
- •Drivers 16 or younger require a formal court appearance with a parent or guardian.
