DSC Court Fees

Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license (copy)
- •Proof of vehicle liability insurance in effect on the offense date (copy)
- •Signed request/forms
- •Payment of court costs (cash, check, money order, or cashier's check)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: By your initial appearance date (mailed requests postmarked no later than the initial appearance date).
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete the course, obtain a certified DPS driving record, and return all documents to the court..
- •A guilty or no-contest plea must be entered for approval.
- •Not eligible within 12 months of a prior DSC dismissal.
- •Ineligible if: CDL holder; speeding 25+ over; work-zone with workers present; school bus violation; no-insurance violation; or an accident.
- •Course must be TDLR-certified (online/video accepted); the court cannot recommend a specific course.
