DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee confirmed in the court's own citation-info document (June 2024): Moving Violation $144, School Zone Moving Violation $169. Pay at the time of the request.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid non-commercial Texas driver's license or permit (photocopy taken by clerk)
- •Proof of current vehicle liability insurance (photocopy taken by clerk)
- •Signed DSC affidavit (signed at time of request)
- •Original TDLR-certified DSC completion certificate (must list 'Petersburg Municipal Court' as the court, must be signed, submitted within 90 days)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must enter a plea within 12 business days of the citation issue date; DSC permission must be requested before paying in full (voluntary payment forfeits DSC option)
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date on the Driving Safety Course order.
- •Court is NOT a court of record.

- •Court sessions held every 1st and 3rd Monday; call (806) 667-3461 to confirm dates.
- •Voluntary payment (by mail, phone, or online) results in a conviction, is reported to DPS, and forfeits any right to request DSC or deferred disposition.
