How to Request DSC Approval

In-personAppear at Petersburg Municipal Court (City Hall, 1524 Main St., Petersburg, TX 79250) to sign the DSC affidavit and present license and proof of insurance; then return the original completion certificate by the 90-day deadline.
MailMail plea forms and payments to the court; mail the original TDLR-certified DSC completion certificate (with 'Petersburg Municipal Court' listed on it) on or before the 90th day shown on your DSC order. Enclose a copy of the citation.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Valid non-commercial Texas driver's license or permit (photocopy taken by clerk)
  • Proof of current vehicle liability insurance (photocopy taken by clerk)
  • Signed DSC affidavit (signed at time of request)
  • Original TDLR-certified DSC completion certificate (must list 'Petersburg Municipal Court' as the court, must be signed, submitted within 90 days)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
  • Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS

  • Request deadline: Must enter a plea within 12 business days of the citation issue date; DSC permission must be requested before paying in full (voluntary payment forfeits DSC option)
  • Completion window: 90 days from the date on the Driving Safety Course order.
  • Court is NOT a court of record.
