How to Request DSC Approval

In-personSubmit DSC request in person at Marion City Hall, 303 S Center St, on or before your appearance date.
MailSubmit by Certified Mail on or before your appearance date.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Current proof of insurance

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Uniform Certificate of Completion (Court Copy obtained at end of course)
  • Type 3A Driving Record (obtainable from DPS for $12.00)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Must request DSC (waive right to trial, plead guilty or no contest) in person, by Certified Mail, or by email on or before your appearance date. Failure to request by your court date forfeits the right.
  • Completion window: 90 days to submit the Uniform Certificate of Completion (Court Copy) and a Type 3A Driving Record.
  • Eligibility requires a valid Texas DL, current proof of insurance, and no DSC completed in the preceding 12 months.
  • Ineligible offenses: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, passing a stopped school bus, CDL holders, and construction/work zone violations with workers present.
  • Court meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1:00 PM at Marion City Hall.
  • Citation payments accepted online via govrec.com portal.
