DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court cost confirmed at $143.90 (standard) or $168.90 (school zone) per the court's official DSC Request Form and Options Regarding Your Citation documents. Fee is separate from the cost of the driving safety course itself.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Class C driver's license or permit (CDL holders do not qualify)
- •Proof of valid auto liability insurance with defendant listed as a driver
- •Notarized DSC Request Form / Affidavit
- •Court cost payment of $143.90 (or $168.90 if school zone) — check or money order payable to Todd Mission Municipal Court; no cash by mail; no temporary or business checks
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •After course completion: original 'Court Copy' certificate of course completion (signed)
- •After course completion: notarized Statement of Compliance
- •After course completion: certified copy of driving record (version 3A) from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: DSC request must be submitted on or before the appearance date printed on the citation
- •Completion window: Court sets the completion due date when granting permission; defendant must not begin course until permission is granted.
- •Faxed requests and faxed documents are not accepted.
- •DSC Request Form must be notarized before submission.
- •Court sessions are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. — in-person appearances and DSC requests may also be handled during regular business hours M–F.
- •Todd Mission is located on FM-1774 in Grimes County, home of the Texas Renaissance Festival; the court serves a small community with heavy seasonal event traffic in the fall.
