DSC Court Fees
⚠ Non-refundable. Must be a cashier's check or money order payable to 'City of Navasota Municipal Court' — no cash or personal checks.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed and signed Driving Safety Course Application (notarized for mail requests)
- •Photocopy of valid (non-commercial) Texas Driver's License
- •Photocopy of current auto liability insurance policy
- •DSC fee payment by cashier's check or money order
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be received or postmarked on or before your appearance date. A telephone call does not constitute an appearance. Allow 5 days from the citation issue date to make an in-person request.
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete a TEA-approved DSC (or DPS-approved motorcycle course), obtain a certified Type 3A driver record from Texas DPS, and submit the court copy of the completion certificate, the certified driving record, and a signed/notarized DSC affidavit..
- •Ineligible if: holder of a CDL; took a court-ordered DSC for another citation within one year; no valid Texas DL; or charged with 95+ mph, speeding 25+ mph over limit, passing a school bus, a serious traffic violation, failure to stop and render aid, or an offense in a construction zone with a worker present.
- •Plea is No Contest; court enters a deferred judgment and defers imposition for 90 days.
- •DSC affidavit must be notarized, OR signed before the Judge/Court Clerk/Deputy Clerk if filed in person.
- •Certified driver record must be Type 3A ($10 from Texas DPS) — Type 2A is NOT acceptable.
