How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of your Texas Driver's License
- •Current vehicle insurance documentation
- •Court-provided application form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of your driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval to complete the course and return all required documents to the court..

- •Eligibility: valid Texas Driver's License, current insurance listing you as a covered driver, and no DSC taken in the previous 12 months.
- •Course must be any 6-hour TEA-approved driving safety course (classroom or online).
- •DSC is NOT available for: CDL holders, out-of-state residents, school bus passing violations, construction/work zone violations, and speeding 25+ mph over the limit.
