How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of liability insurance
- •Completed DSC certificate from a TDLR-approved provider
- •Request must be made on or before appearance date on citation
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on the citation
- •Completion window: 90 days (Texas standard; confirm with court).
- •Must be at least 16 years old to request DSC
- •DSC may not be taken if taken in the preceding 12 months
- •Ineligible offenses: construction zone violations with workers present, CDL holders, school bus passing violations, hit-and-run, speeding 25+ mph over the limit
- •Plea must be guilty or nolo contendere to request DSC
