DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee varies by violation date: before Sept 1, 2019 is $109 ($134 school zone); Sept 1–Dec 31, 2019 is $129 ($154); Jan 1, 2020 onward is $144 ($169 school zone).
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Proof of liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Uniform certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved DSC
- •Certified DPS driving record (request type Box 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Provide written notice/request to take the course on or before the due date shown on the ticket.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the approved course..
- •Ineligible if charged with speeding 25+ mph over the posted limit.
- •Ineligible if the violation occurred in a construction zone.
- •Ineligible if you hold a CDL.
- •Course must be TDLR-approved.
