How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request form
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of current vehicle liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Driver Safety Course Certificate of Completion
- •Type 3A Driving Record (obtained from DPS)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Before appearance/answer date (must request before paying full fine or pleading guilty)
- •You have 90 days from court order date (both certificate and Type 3A driving record must be submitted by the 90th day) to complete the course and submit all documents.
- •Dismissal applies to ONE 'moving' violation only — not all violations are eligible.
- •You are NOT eligible if you have attended a driving safety course for a ticket dismissal within the last 12 months.
- •If cited for more than one violation, only one can be dismissed via DSC.
- •By attending DSC, you waive your right to a hearing on that violation.
