DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court costs must be paid in full at the time the DSC request is granted. DSC fees cannot be paid by phone or through the online portal (the online portal is for fine payments only).
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Payment of court costs in full ($144 standard / $169 school zone)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Driving safety course certificate of completion (after course)
- •Certified Texas DPS driving record (after course)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the response/appearance date listed on the citation (approximately 20 business days from the citation date)
- •Do not take the course until the court grants your request.
- •Online portal is for fine payments only; DSC fees cannot be paid online or by phone.
- •Mailed payments must be money order or cashier's check — personal checks are not accepted.
- •Standard Texas eligibility exclusions apply (no DSC in prior 12 months, not 25+ mph over the limit, no CDL, no construction-zone-with-workers or pass-a-school-bus offenses).
