DSC Court Fees
⚠ Payment must be submitted with the DSC request. The court does not accept personal checks — pay by cash, money order, cashier's check, or credit card at the court; online payments are not available.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit (or proof of active-duty military status)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Payment of $147 ($172 school zone) with the request
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the court appearance date listed on the citation
- •Do not take the course before receiving approval from the Ennis Municipal Court — approval and instructions are mailed after the court receives your request.
- •Not eligible if you hold a Class A or B commercial driver's license, or completed a DSC within the past 12 months.
- •Ineligible offenses include speeding 95 mph or more, speeding 25+ mph over the limit, failing to remain at a collision scene, school bus violations, and most work zone offenses.
- •Defendants under 17 (minors) must appear before the judge.
