DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fees vary by citation issue date. Violations issued 10/1/2019–12/31/2019 are $134 standard / $154 school zone; violations issued on or after 01/01/2020 are $144 standard / $169 school zone. Court shares facilities with Roanoke Municipal Court at 203 Fairway Dr, Roanoke.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Driver's Safety Course Affidavit / Application
- •Current liability insurance showing your name as a covered driver
- •Valid Texas driver's license
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Current driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request the driving safety course (by mail or in person) before your initial appearance date listed on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete a state-approved Driver's Safety Course and return the certificate of completion to the court..
- •Must be at least 17 years old to be eligible.
- •Not eligible if you completed a DSC within the 12 months prior to the current violation, or are currently taking a DSC for another citation.
- •Not eligible if cited for speeding 25 mph or more over the limit, or for speeding in a construction/school zone with workers present.
- •Not eligible if you hold a commercial driver's license (CDL).
