DSC Court Fees
⚠ For citations issued on/after 01/01/2020: $144 standard / $169 school zone (citations from 10/1/2019–12/31/2019 are $134 / $154). Call (817) 491-0813 to verify.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Driver's Safety Course Application/Affidavit
- •Plea of guilty or no contest, waiving jury trial
- •Current liability insurance listing you as a covered driver
- •Valid Texas driver's license
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Current copy of your DPS driving record
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request before the initial appearance date on the citation.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete a state-approved course and return the certificate..
- •Eligibility: no DSC completed in the prior 12 months; not eligible for speeding 25+ over or work-zone-with-workers.
- •A DPS driving record copy is specifically required as part of the request (less common).
- •The court is located at 203 Fairway Drive, not at Roanoke City Hall.
- •Email requests still require fee payment confirmed by phone.
