DSC Court Fees
⚠ Standard moving violation $144.00; school zone moving violation $179.00. In-person payment by cash, check, money order, or credit/debit card (card payments incur service fees); by mail, check or money order only — no cash.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed, signed, and notarized DSC/MOTC Sworn Request form
- •Photocopy of current auto liability insurance
- •Color copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •DSC fee payment
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •For completion: signed 'Court Copy' of DSC/MOTC Certificate of Completion
- •For completion: Texas DPS Type 3A complete certified driving record
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request DSC/MOTC on or before your scheduled court appearance (arraignment) date or you lose the right to elect it. Allow ~10 days from ticket issuance for the citation to enter the system.
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course and submit required documents to the court..
- •DSC completion documents may NOT be emailed — in-person or by mail only.
- •Sworn Request form must be signed before a notary public.
- •Type 3A certified driving record must be obtained from Texas DPS (texas.gov).
- •Ineligible if: holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), completed a court-ordered DSC within the prior year, charged with speeding 25+ mph over the limit or 95+ mph, or lacking a valid Texas driver's license.
