DSC Court Fees
⚠ All Driving Safety Course fees due must be paid on or before your court/appearance date. No payment arrangements; no exceptions.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Required fees ($129.00 non-school zone / $154.00 school zone)
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •Copy of valid insurance showing you as a covered driver
- •Completed Driving Safety Course Request form (plea of no contest, waives jury trial)
- •Completed Driving Safety Course Affidavit form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request on or before the appearance date printed on your citation.
- •Eligibility requires: no CDL at time of offense; no DSC completed for dismissal in prior 12 months; valid TX license/permit; valid proof of insurance as a covered driver; violation not in a construction/work zone with workers present; citation for a moving violation; if speeding, actual speed less than 25 mph over the limit and less than 95 mph.
- •Only ONE moving violation may be dismissed via DSC.
- •Commercial Driver's License holders are NOT eligible for defensive driving or deferred disposition.
- •City ordinance violations are compliance tickets and cannot use the DSC option.
- •DO NOT take the course before obtaining court approval; course instructions are mailed to you after approval.
