DSC Court Fees
⚠ Moving violations not occurring in a School Zone: $144.00. Moving violations occurring in a School Zone: $169.00. Fee is due immediately after eCourt Appearance if Judge authorizes DSC via virtual hearing.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request Form (submitted on or before Appear By Date on citation)
- •Required DSC fee ($144.00 standard / $169.00 school zone)
- •All five (5) required items must be submitted on or before the 'Appear By Date' on the citation — late or incomplete requests will be rejected
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (TDLR-approved provider)
- •Certified copy of Texas DPS Driving Record (Type 3A)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •On or before the 'Appear By Date' indicated on the citation — late or incomplete requests will be rejected
- •You have 90 days from court authorization to complete the course and submit proof of completion to complete the course and submit all documents.
- •Do NOT take a driving safety course without first obtaining permission (authorization) from the Court.
- •THE FIVE (5) ITEMS NUMBERED ABOVE MUST BE SUBMITTED ON OR BEFORE THE 'APPEAR BY DATE' ON THE FRONT OF YOUR CITATION. LATE OR INCOMPLETE REQUESTS WILL BE REJECTED.
- •The DSC provider must be approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR); course may be taken online or in a classroom setting.
- •If you fail to comply with DSC conditions, you will receive notice of a hearing requiring you to appear in court to explain why you failed to show proof of completion.
