How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of current Texas liability insurance
- •Sworn, notarized affidavit of eligibility
- •Course completion certificate from a Texas Education Agency-approved provider
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request within 10 working days of the citation date.
- •Completion window: 90 days after court approval to submit the course completion certificate and certified driving record..
- •Must enter a written plea of Guilty or No Contest to be eligible.
- •Speed violation must be 24 mph or less over the posted limit.
- •Not eligible if charged in an active construction/work zone.
- •Not eligible if you have completed a driving safety course in the preceding 12 months.
