DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court admin fee of $144 (standard) or $169 (school zone) is required upon DSC request approval. Payment must be made within 24 hours of notice or the request is considered incomplete.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed and notarized Driver Safety Course (DSC) Request/Affidavit form (must be signed before a notary or court clerk)
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of current auto insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified Type 3A Texas driving record (from TX DPS)
- •Certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved 6-hour Driver Safety Course (submitted after course completion)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: DSC request must be submitted to the court PRIOR to completing the course and before your appearance date (within approximately 20 business days of the citation date). Incomplete requests are set on the next available court docket.
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval of DSC request.
- •Copper Canyon is a small town in Denton County near Flower Mound and Lewisville. The municipal court is located at Town Hall, 400 Woodland Drive.
- •DSC request must be made BEFORE completing the course — the court must approve the request first.
- •If the DSC fee payment is not made within 24 hours of approval notice, the request is voided and the case is placed on the next court docket.
- •Incomplete DSC requests (missing documents or payment) are reset on the next available court docket before a judge.
