To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Current proof of liability insurance naming defendant as covered driver
  • Plea of Guilty or No Contest (signed affidavit)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Official Type 3A driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
  • DSC certificate of completion (submitted after course, within 90-day window)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Must request DSC before your appearance date (within 30 days of citation date for initial appearance); phone calls do NOT count — request must be submitted in person or online.
  • Completion window: 90 days from court approval; no extensions granted..
  • Do NOT enroll in a Driver Safety Course until the court has approved your request and you have paid court costs — early enrollment is not accepted.
  • DSC is only available once every 12 months for citation dismissal purposes.
  • Defendants under age 25 must select DSC to keep a moving violation off their driving record.
  • Court hearings are held each Thursday at 3:00 PM.
