To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Completed Driving Safety Course Affidavit (Non-School Zone OR School Zone — whichever applies)
  • Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
  • Copy of current vehicle liability insurance (proof of financial responsibility)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Texas DPS Type 3A Driving Record (required upon course completion, submitted within 90-day window)
  • DSC Certificate of Completion (submitted within 90-day window)

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • You have 90 days from approval to complete the course and submit all documents.
  • Irving's online portal explicitly supports DSC requests AND payment — not just fine payment. Defendants can request DSC online at municipalonlinepayments.com.
  • If requesting by mail or fax, defendant must wait for written court permission before taking the course. Court will NOT respond by fax — only by mail or email.
  • CDL holders are ineligible for DSC, even if driving a personal vehicle at the time of the offense.
  • Speeding 25 MPH or more over the posted speed limit is NOT eligible for DSC dismissal.
  • DSC may only be used once within a 12-month period preceding the date of the current offense.
