Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • On or before the appearance date shown on your citation
  • You have By the deadline established by the court at time of approval — call court to confirm exact window to complete the course and submit all documents.
  • Official eligibility per gptx.org: must have a valid Texas driver's license (commercial license holders are ineligible) and current proof of Texas liability insurance.
  • Drivers may only take DSC once per 12-month period for ticket dismissal — not once per calendar year.
  • Ineligible violations include: speeding 25 mph or more over the posted limit, no insurance/failure to maintain financial responsibility, leaving the scene of a collision, passing a school bus, and violations occurring in a construction zone.
  • The DSC request MUST be made on or before the appearance date on the citation — this right is forfeited if not requested in time.
