How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of insurance
- •Copy of government-issued identification or birth certificate
- •Completed Plea Form (select only one option)
- •Written notice/request for defensive driving with appropriate payment
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be submitted before the appearance date on your citation
- •You MUST contact the court first before submitting any forms or payment (call 214-339-1976, Option #2).
- •Eligibility: valid Texas Driver's License, proof of insurance, and no DSC taken for a ticket in the last 12 months.
- •Written notice for defensive driving AND the appropriate payment are both required at the time of the request.
- •After submitting documents, contact the court to confirm receipt; some cases require additional information.
- •Court office closes daily for lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
