DSC Court Fees
⚠ DSC/deferred fees cannot be paid via the online payment portal — must be paid with prior court approval through the court directly. Court phone for payment questions: (469) 272-2930.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Proof of liability insurance (or other financial responsibility)
- •Proof of a valid Texas driver's license
- •Plea of guilty or no contest
- •Payment of court costs and DSC fee ($144 standard / $169 school zone)
- •Signed sworn affidavit declaring eligibility to take a driving safety course
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Signed DSC Certificate of Completion (from a TDLR-approved provider)
- •Certified copy of Texas driving record (Type 3A) from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •On or before the appearance date indicated on the citation
- •You have 90 days from court/Judge authorization to complete the course and submit all documents.
- •Do not take a driving safety course without first obtaining permission from the Court.
- •CDL holders are NOT eligible for the Driving Safety Course.
- •Motorcycle violations require a Motorcycle Operator's Training Course instead of a standard DSC.
- •Eligibility requires that no DSC course was completed to dismiss a traffic ticket in the 12 months preceding the date of the violation.
