DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court administrative fee confirmed on the city's official DSC page: $144 standard, $169 school zone. Do not take a DSC without first obtaining court permission.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Proof of financial responsibility (insurance) listing applicant as a driver
- •Signed affidavit confirming no DSC taken in prior 12 months
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved driving safety course
- •Certified copy of driving record from Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must request permission from the court on or before your appearance date printed on the citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from court approval; no extensions granted.
- •Virtual court sessions held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.
- •24-hour drop box available at the drive-through for after-hours payments.
- •DSC not available if you hold a commercial driver's license, were charged with speeding 25+ mph over the limit, or were traveling 95 mph or more.
- •DSC not available if you completed a DSC within the past 12 months.
