DSC Court Fees
⚠ The $144.00 court admin fee (cashier's check or money order payable to Crane Municipal Court) is confirmed on the court's own Sworn Statement for Driving Safety Course form. Fines double in school zones and construction zones with workers present; school-zone DSC admin fee not separately stated — contact the court. Note: the Crane County Justice of the Peace (a separate court) charges $157.00 for its DSC program.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed and notarized Sworn Statement for Driving Safety Course (must be signed before a Notary Public)
- •Cashier's check or money order for $144.00 payable to Crane Municipal Court (personal checks not accepted)
- •Copy of current liability insurance card
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must submit all documents by the appearance date on your citation; judge must approve in writing before you take the course
- •Completion window: 90 days (Texas standard; not separately stated on court form, but implied by DSC statute).
- •The judge must approve your DSC request in writing before you take the course — do not enroll until you receive written approval.
- •CDL holders are not eligible for DSC.
- •Driving 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit is not eligible for DSC.
- •Drivers who have taken a DSC in lieu of a fine within the last 12 months are not eligible.
