Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: Must submit all documents by the appearance date on your citation; judge must approve in writing before you take the course
  • Completion window: 90 days (Texas standard; not separately stated on court form, but implied by DSC statute).
  • The judge must approve your DSC request in writing before you take the course — do not enroll until you receive written approval.
  • CDL holders are not eligible for DSC.
  • Driving 25 mph or more over the posted speed limit is not eligible for DSC.
  • Drivers who have taken a DSC in lieu of a fine within the last 12 months are not eligible.
