To Request Approval — Submit These

  • Completed Request-for-Driver-Safety-Course form (submitted before court date)

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • Court Certificate of Completion from a state-approved DSC provider
  • Certified copy of Texas driving record

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • Request deadline: On or before the court date shown on the citation
  • Completion window: 90 days from court approval.
  • DSC not available if cited for speeding 25+ mph over the limit, if a CDL holder, or if DSC was completed within 12 months preceding the offense date.
  • Drivers under 25 required to complete defensive driving as part of Deferred Disposition.
  • Deferred Disposition (probation not to exceed 6 months) is an alternative to DSC for eligible moving violations; request must be made before due date.
  • Compliance dismissal available for expired registration or license violations if resolved within 10 business days.
