How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
- •Valid insurance card (must be listed driver on policy)
- •Signed plea form (check #5, enter plea of Guilty or Nolo Contendere, date and sign)
- •Copy of citation (required for mail or fax submissions)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must be submitted and processed prior to your appearance date; do not take the course before receiving court approval
- •Do NOT take the course before receiving written approval from the court.
- •Not eligible for DSC if: holder of a Commercial Driver's License; charge is not a moving traffic violation; alleged speed is 25+ mph over the posted limit; violation occurred in a construction zone with workers present; passed a school bus loading/unloading students; or a DSC was completed within the 12 months preceding the date of the current offense.
- •Incomplete forms or missing documents will result in denial; a new court date will be mailed.
