How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Administrative fee ($144, or $169 for school zone)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a Texas-approved driving safety course
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must contact the court to obtain permission BEFORE taking the course.
- •Completion window: 3 months to complete the course and forward the certificate of completion to the court..
- •You must contact the court prior to taking the course to obtain permission.
- •Course may be taken as an in-person class, at-home video, or online — but must be a Texas-approved course.
- •Holders of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) do NOT qualify for Driver's Safety Course or Deferred Adjudication.
