DSC Court Fees
⚠ Administrative fee and court costs total $146.90 ($171.90 for speeding in a school zone). The fine amount is waived upon proof of DSC completion.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request form
- •Copy of valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of current vehicle liability insurance
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Uniform certificate of completion from an approved Texas Education Agency driving safety course
- •A certified copy of your driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Court must receive your DSC request via Certified Mail or in person no later than your appearance date; if mailed, it must be postmarked on or before the court due date.
- •Completion window: Submit the uniform certificate and certified driving record to the court within 90 days..
- •Requesting DSC keeps the citation from being reported as a conviction; the citation is dismissed if all required terms are met.
- •DSC request must be made via Certified Mail or in person only — no standard/uncertified mail accepted.
