How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of a valid Texas driver's license or permit
- •Copy of proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Court's notarized affidavit (may be signed before the clerk)
- •Signed court copy of a TDLR-approved DSC completion certificate (completion date on or before your due date)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified DPS driving record (Type 3A, $10)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Plea of no contest and DSC request made at initial plea; the 90-day clock runs from the initial plea date.
- •Completion window: 90 days from the initial plea date to complete and submit all documents. No extensions..
- •Court DSC mailing/in-person address is 606 Avenue N (the Third St address is City Hall).
- •Ineligible: speeding 25+ over, leaving a collision scene, passing a school bus, work-zone with workers, CDL holders, or DSC in the prior 12 months.
- •Driving record must be the certified DPS Type 3A ($10) — Type 2A is NOT acceptable.
- •Failure to submit on time triggers a show cause hearing; non-compliance reported to DPS and the full fine becomes due. Fax 830-693-4032.
