DSC Court Fees
⚠ $144 standard / $169 school zone. Payment by cash, money order, cashier's check, or card (5% surcharge on cards).
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Current Texas driver's license (or military ID with out-of-state license)
- •Current/valid auto liability insurance card listing the driver
- •Completed guilty or no-contest plea form
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on your citation (mailed requests postmarked by the appearance date).
- •Completion window: Not stated on the court site — confirm the completion deadline when your request is granted..
- •Eligibility: valid TX license (or military ID with out-of-state license), valid insurance, no CDL, charged speed not over 94 mph or 24 over, and no DSC dismissal in the past 12 months.
- •Ineligible: passing a school bus, leaving the scene, work-zone moving violations with workers present.
- •You CANNOT use the online reply form for DSC — request in person, by fax, or via the drop box; copies/scans only, not photos.
- •Paying the citation in full is a conviction reported to DPS.
