DSC Court Fees
⚠ Caldwell charges a single $146 court cost to take a driving safety course; there is no separate school-zone DSC fee — school-zone and construction-zone (workers present) violations are not eligible for DSC dismissal.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed and notarized DSC affidavit (Plea Reply Form)
- •Proof of valid liability insurance
- •Copy of valid Texas driver license or permit
- •Payment of $146.00 court cost (money order, cashier's check, or credit/debit card by phone)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Submit plea/affidavit within 10 days of citation (before appearance date)
- •Completion window: 90 days from approval; no extensions granted.
- •All trial hearings held at Caldwell Civic Center, 103 TX-21 West, Caldwell, TX 77836 (not the city hall address).
- •CDL holders are not eligible for DSC dismissal.
- •DSC is not available if cited for 25+ mph over the speed limit or if the violation occurred in a construction zone with workers present.
- •Notarization of the affidavit is required before submission.
