How to Request DSC Approval

By mailMail your request to the address below — certified with return receipt, postmarked on or before your answer date.

To Request Approval — Submit These

  • •Completed Defendant's Plea and Request for Driver Safety Course form
  • •Payment of $130.00 (no personal checks)
  • •Copy of valid Texas Driver License or Permit (Class C)
  • •Copy of proof of insurance with defendant listed as a driver

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
  • •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • •Request deadline: Contact court promptly — do not wait; bench warrant risk if citation is ignored
  • •Completion window: Due date assigned by court after request is approved.
  • •Judge Jay Womack presides over Precinct 1 Place 2.

  • •DSC not available if charged with speeding 25+ mph over limit or 95+ mph in any zone, or offense in a work zone with workers present.
  • •Must not have taken a DSC in the preceding 12 months.
