DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee confirmed on official court handout (Document #789, 2024 fee schedule). Submit money order or cashier's check with DSC request form.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Signed DSC request form (guilty or no contest plea under CCP Art. 45.0511)
- •Money order or cashier's check for $144.00 (or $169.00 in school zone)
- •Copy of valid Texas liability insurance
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •TDLR-approved certificate of course completion (submitted within 90-day deferral period)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified driving record from www.dps.texas.gov (submitted with completion certificate)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request (signed plea + fee) must be postmarked by the 10th working day from citation date (appearance date). Do not take the course before court approval.
- •Completion window: 90-day deferral period to complete the course and submit certificate.
- •Not eligible if charged with speeding 25 MPH or more over the speed limit, or at 95 MPH or greater.
- •Not eligible if you have taken a DSC in the past 12 months.
- •CDL holders and those charged in a construction zone with workers present are NOT eligible for DSC or deferred disposition.
- •Course may dismiss only one violation every 12 months.
